PEEK gear pumps for highly corrosive applications
Chemical-resistant PEEK gear pumps TEF-MAG®
for high-pressure and high-temperature applications
In the realm of demanding technical applications, you encounter daily challenges that necessitate innovative solutions. This is where we excel: with the TEF-MAG® PEEK gear pump from MARCH PUMPEN. When small quantities of highly corrosive liquids must be pumped in systems with substantial pressure losses, and high temperatures are required for the process, most pump systems fall short. MARCH PUMPEN’s patented TEF-MAG® external gear pump features not only a fully non-metallic hydraulic system but is also optimized for specialized applications.
For various applications with 30% potassium hydroxide at operating temperatures of up to 90°C, such as alkaline electrolysis, the MARCH magnetic gear pump TEF-MAG® was designed and manufactured of high-performance plastic PEEK (polyetheretherketone) specifically according to user requirements. The engineers at MARCH PUMPEN succeeded in achieving a design pressure of PN40 bar (hydrostatic pressure test of 60 bar) in a completely non-metallic pump using a hybrid containment can. The housing parts of the TEF-MAG® gear pump are machined from PEEK, offering optimal strength, chemical resistance, and long-term use temperature for this specialized application. The pump shafts are made from the particularly chemically resistant and wear-resistant material SSiC. For a long service life, the gears are made of a PEEK and PTFE combination using a polygon shaft hub profile and are positively connected to the pump shafts. Two solid bearing blocks made of graphite, alternatively SSiC or PEEK, center and support the shaft gear units optimally in the pump housing. This means that no small or standard parts made of special materials are required for the entire pump hydraulics. Statically installed O-rings and a permanent magnet coupling round off the entire system in terms of safety and ensure hermetically sealed and safe delivery of corrosive liquids.
